Do not include authors' names, handouts, or program materials with the abstract. We recommend that you organize your abstract according to the following headings:
  1. Title of presentation
  2. Purpose of presentation (why is this important and who is the target audience)
  3. Objectives of the presentation (what are you planning to do)
  4. Rural focus (how is this different from what is presented at other conferences)
  5. Practical applications (how can your results/strategies be used by others)
  6. Relationship to the conference theme
  7. Information (data or theoretical base) to support what is advocated.

VI. *CONFERENCE TOPIC STRANDS

VII. *TYPE/LENGTH OF PROPOSED PRESENTATION

(Select one):
Research/Evaluation sessions: 20-minute report of research related to the strand. Time will be provided for discussion.
Promising Practices presentation: 50-minute discussion or demonstration of successful programming or teaching strategies relative to a specific strand.
Theory/Descriptive presentation: 50-minute description of theory or rationale using literature or field experience.
Roundtable discussion (Thursday): 25-minute session repeated three times in succession as participants rotate among tables/presentations.
Poster session (Friday): One and a half hour visual display of programs, applications or research. Practioner session (Friday): 50-minute discussion or demonstration of successful teaching strategies specifically for K-12 teachers.
